Douglas S. Sepic recently received advanced level training, from the American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys, on how to use Mental Illnesses to Win DUI Alcohol and/or Drug Cases. Douglas received training on how, unfortunately, drivers who suffer from mental illness(es) will be misdiagnosed by the arresting officer and wrongfully arrested for DUI alcohol and/or drugs. Officers are specifically trained by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that individuals with mental illness may exhibit signs and symptoms very similar to those of an individual impaired by drugs and/or alcohol. Officers are also trained that these individuals may also be experiencing coexisting conditions of mental illness with drug impairment. Because officers rarely ask a driver, during a DUI investigation, if they suffer from mental illness, it is critical for an attorney to ask each and every client this question.

The American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys has compiled information from Judges, Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutors (the Top DUI Prosecutors in each State), DUI Prosecutors, current Law Enforcement Officers, former Law Enforcement Officers, and DUI Defense Attorneys to determine exactly what skills, knowledge, training, tools, resources, and strategies win the most DUI cases at trial and are also used to get DUI cases successfully resolved for the defense prior to trial.

When people need a DUI Attorney, the biggest challenge is knowing whether or not an attorney truly has the skills, knowledge, training, tools, resources, and strategies that are needed to successfully resolve and win DUI cases. Countless attorneys handle DUI cases. But, only a very small percentage have the skills, knowledge, training, tools, resources, and strategies that are needed to successfully resolve and win DUI cases.

Members of the American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys have received advanced level training on the strategies that win the most DUI cases at trial and are also used to get DUI cases successfully resolved for the defense prior to trial. Members of the American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys also have access to the resources and tools that are used to win and successfully resolve DUI cases and these are resources and tools that only a very small percentage of DUI attorneys have access to and use.

Douglas Sepic is a partner in the law firm of Watson Mundorff Brooks & Sepic, LLP. He litigates complex and routine criminal defense matters, including charges of DUI, Homicide by Vehicle, Drug Possession/Delivery, Criminal Homicide, Child Pornography, Assault, Aggravated Assault, Weapons violations, Sexual Assaults, Burglary, Theft offenses, Embezzlement and Domestic Violence.  He has extensive courtroom experience in criminal matters, having tried over 350 criminal jury trials to verdict, including 9 criminal homicide cases, and having tried in excess of 400 bench trials. As a criminal defense lawyer, his strategy is to attack the case of the prosecution by challenging the validity of the arrest, dismantling the procedures employed by the police, trapping witnesses in their dishonesty and questioning the competence and credibility of the police and witnesses. Never mistake his kindness for weakness; he is not a defense lawyer who police officers or prosecutors want to see on the other side of counsel table at trial.

Mr. Sepic previously served 16 years as a prosecutor, where he served as a Deputy Drug Prosecutor, a Deputy Domestic Violence Prosecutor, Chief of Juvenile Prosecution, and Special Vehicle Crimes Prosecutor and was assigned to violent and complex felony prosecution. As a prosecutor, he once served for two consecutive years without losing a major felony case at trial. As a result of this experience, he is extensively familiar with the strategies and games employed by the government in the prosecution of their cases.

He earned his J.D. in 1992 from Duquesne University, and his B.S. in Finance, in 1989 from West Virginia University. He is admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
