John Prior Jr

John G. Prior, Jr. recently received advanced level training, from the American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys, on how to use a driver’s internal body clock to win DUI cases. John received training on how a driver’s internal body clock can be assessed on both the Modified Romberg Balance Test and the One Leg Stand Test. If a driver’s internal body clock is found to be within +/- 5 seconds of 30 seconds, the defense can get an officer to testify that the driver’s internal body clock is consistent with the driver being not impaired at the time of the stop.

The American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys has compiled information from Judges, Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutors (the Top DUI Prosecutors in each State), DUI Prosecutors, current Law Enforcement Officers, former Law Enforcement Officers, and DUI Defense Attorneys to determine exactly what skills, knowledge, training, tools, resources, and strategies win the most DUI cases at trial and are also used to get DUI cases successfully resolved for the defense prior to trial.

When people need a DUI Attorney, the biggest challenge is knowing whether or not an attorney truly has the skills, knowledge, training, tools, resources, and strategies that are needed to successfully resolve and win DUI cases. Countless attorneys handle DUI cases. But, only a very small percentage have the skills, knowledge, training, tools, resources, and strategies that are needed to successfully resolve and win DUI cases.

Members of the American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys have received advanced level training on the strategies that win the most DUI cases at trial and are also used to get DUI cases successfully resolved for the defense prior to trial. Members of the American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys also have access to the resources and tools that are used to win and successfully resolve DUI cases and these are resources and tools that only a very small percentage of DUI attorneys have access to and use.

Many people find themselves paralyzed into inaction after being arrested or charged with an Illinois crime. Sometimes they go into a kind of shock due to the stress and fear of the situation itself. Other times police officers and prosecutors may convince them that there is nothing to be done – the evidence against them is too strong. They are going to pay, so why even try to fight?

This, of course, is exactly how law enforcement officials want you to feel. Because their job is to secure a conviction. If you believe there is no hope and do nothing to fight back, it makes that job a whole lot easier.

Here is what you should do: hire a skilled and experienced criminal attorney as soon as you can. The faster you do, the better your chances at receiving a positive outcome. Why? Because in criminal cases, time matters.

As someone who has been practicing law for more than 27 years, John Prior, Jr. understands this. He knows that some types of evidence must be collected quickly or you will not be able to use them in your defense. The more time law enforcement officials spend with you before you have an attorney, the more likely you are to say or do something that can harm your case.

That is why, when you decide to work with The Prior Law Firm, P.C., their lawyers are ready to hit the ground running. They will make sure you are not questioned without a representative present; your rights are respected and no corners are cut; any evidence that can potentially help your case is collected and turned over to us; and the prosecution does not get any more of a head start than they already have.

Since 2004, The Prior Law Firm, P.C. has been helping people in and around Bloomington, IL, to do just that, fighting for their rights and making sure that they receive a fair trial. However, John Prior, Jr.’s legal experience stretches back far longer than that – for more than 27 years.

Over that time he has worked on both sides of the aisle. First for the State’s Attorney’s Office, where he served as a brief writer for the Appellate Prosecutor’s office, as an Assistant State’s Attorney in multiple counties, and as the elected State’s Attorney of Henderson County.

Now he has his own defense law firm, where he uses his first-hand knowledge of how prosecutors think to craft winning strategies and help his clients to get their charges reduced, dropped, or dismissed.

When you understand the types of arguments that the other side is going to use, it not only helps to bolster your own argument, but undercut theirs. This is a method that Prior has used time and time again to poke holes in prosecutors’ cases and cast doubt on their evidence and assertions.

This is incredibly important because, in criminal trials, the burden of proof is on the other side. While prosecutors must prove your guilt, you don’t need to prove your innocence. All you need to do is put doubts into the minds of the jury members or judge. That is what “innocent until proven guilty” means. It may not always feel like it, but under our legal system, you are given the benefit of the doubt.

Due to the positive outcomes he has been able to achieve handling DUIs, felonies, and all kinds of other Illinois criminal charges, Prior has received quite a bit of recognition from a wide variety of legal institutions, including being Lead Counsel rated, having both the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys and the American Institute of DUI/DWI Attorneys name him to their 10 Best in Client Satisfaction list two years in a row (2016 and 2017), and appearing on the National Trial Lawyers list of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers.

Above all, John Prior, Jr. believes in the right for everyone to receive the strongest possible defense and have their rights protected while going through the criminal justice system. When your life and future are on the line, you want to make sure you have the best possible advocate in your corner.

Mr. Prior not only possesses the knowledge and experience in Illinois criminal law that you need, he will treat your case like the priority that it is. He will give you his full attention and commitment until your situation is resolved to the best of his abilities.
